eQcell
Founded in 2010 by Dr. Thomas Koch, eQcell Inc. is the product of 15 years of scientific stem cell research from the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College (OVC).
eQcell is the first company to be authorized by Health Canada to perform clinical testing of MSCs (mesenchymal stem cells) for the treatment of equine arthritis. The eQcell team provides stem cell therapy services to Canadian veterinarians and researchers, successfully treating horses with joint, tendon and ligament injuries.
A major focus of eQcell is the development of an “off-the-shelf allogenic stem cell product,” which would enable high-quality osteoarthritis solutions in the equine industry (and potentially the companion animal health industry) accessible for all.
